18.12.2017 | B.Sc. Thesis presentation on 18th of December

Mr Alexander Pastor will be presenting results from his B.Sc. thesis titled "Coexistence Study of Different Medium Access Mechanisms using a Software Defined Radio Testbed". The presentation will start at 14:00 on Monday 18th of December, and will take place in iNETS Seminar Room.  


15.12.2017 | Ph.D. dissertation talk and defence on 15th of December

Mr Alexandros Palaios will defend his doctoral dissertation on 15th of December. The public talk on large-scale spectrum sensing campaigns and a role of man-made noise will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Seminar Room of  iNETS. The defence will take place later in the afternoon and due to that the institute is closed after 3 p.m.  


03.11.2017 | 2nd iNETS Thesis mini-conference on 3rd of November

On Friday 3rd of November, iNETS organises a mini-conference presenting results from a M.Sc. thesis and two  B.Sc. thesis projects. The presentations are given by Mr Carmine Bianco for B.Sc. degree ("Performance Evaluation of the QUIC Protocol in Wireless Networks"), Mr Immanuel Gehring for B.Sc. degree ("Performance Evaluation of Dense 802.11ac Wi-Fi Network Deployments with Heterogeneous Channel Allocation"), and Mr Aleksander Gladis for M.Sc. degree ("Motion Data Assisted Classification of Smartphone Usage Events").The mini-conference presentations will start at 10:00 and will take place in the Seminar Room of iNETS. 


02.11.2017 | iNETS Thesis mini-conference on 2nd of November

On Thursday 2nd of November, iNETS organises a mini-conference presenting results from four B.Sc. thesis projects. The presentations are given by Ms Yuxi Sun ("Proximity Communication for Secure IoT Networks"), Mr. Alexander Moriz ("Performance Characterization of an Ultra-Wideband Radar for Even Recognition"), Mr Thomas Lambertz ("Distributed Spectrum Sensing with Low-Cost SDRs"), and Mr Michael Zentarra ("Empirical Characterisation of Millimeter-Wave Link Opportunities in an Indoor Environment"). The mini-conference presentations will start at 15:00 and will take place in the Seminar Room of iNETS. 


10.10.2017 | SMEAGOL Lab and 4th Semester Project

The topic area for this semester SMEAGOL-laboaratory and 4th Semester projects is IoT (Internet of Things). The groups will have a design project to implement special IoT "product prototype" and learning skills to run successful independent projects.

Mr Bernd Rörick presents results from his B.Sc. thesis titled "Evaluation of Wireless Interference from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles". The second thesis presentation is given by Mr Frenki Malolli who will present his M.Sc. thesis titled "Mobility Management for mm-Wave Cellular Networks". The presentations will take place on 1thh of September at 10 am and 11 am in Seminar Room of iNETS, respectively.

Ms Xiping Peng presents results from her M.Sc. thesis titled "Hybrid Tracking of Pedestrian using Inertial Sensors and Signal Strength Maps". The presentation will take place on 7th of July at 11:00 a.m. in Seminar Room of iNETS.

Mr Luis Gill  presents results from his M.Sc. thesis titled "Medium Access Control Strategies for In-Band Full-Duplex Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks". The second thesis presentation is given by Mr Martin Stump who will present his B.Sc. thesis titled "Empirical Characterisation of Millimeter-Wave Link Blockage Events". The presentations will take place on 30th of June at 10:00 a.m.  and 11:00 am in Seminar Room of iNETS, respectively.

Mr Benedikt Eliasson will be presenting results from his B.Sc. thesis titled "Design and Evaluation of Wireless Air Quality Measurement Platform". The presentation will start at 15:15 on Monday 8th of May, and will take place in iNETS Seminar Room.  


05.04.2017 | Communications Networks Results & Retake

The preliminary results of Communications Networks WS2016/17 are published in L2P. The opportunity to see individual exam papers ("Einsicht") will take place on Tuesday 11.4. between 13:00 and 16:00 in the lecture room at iNETS. The extraordinary retake exam ("Ergänzungsprüfung") are offered on Wednesday 12.4 and Thursday 13.4. The ordinary written retake will be offered in Summer Semester. 


09.03.2017 | The best paper award from DySPAN'17

The paper authored by iNETS team and Dr. de Vries from the University of Colorado, Boulder, has won the best paper award of IEEE DySPAN conference. The lead author and the presenter for the work was Ms Andra Voicu, and the paper was titled "Analysis Wi-Fi/LTE Coexistence to Demonstrate the Value of Risk-Informed Interference Assessment".

On February 2nd we have a double thesis talk day. First, Mr Gaurav Suman presents his M.Sc. thesis results at 14:00. The thesis is titled "Implementation and Performance Analysis of QUIC Protocol for Wireless Networks". This is followed by a B.Sc. thesis talk by Mr Philipp Geuer at 15:00 titled "Short-Range Radar Based Event Recognition."

On December 6th we have a double thesis talk day. First, Mr Vlad Hrestic presents his M.Sc. thesis results at 14:00. The thesis is titled "Resource Management for Millimeter-Wave Mobile Cellular Networks". This is followed by a B.Sc. thesis talk by Mr Markus Stroot at 15:00 titled "Visualization of Radio Signals in 3D environments."

20.10.2016 | Two B.Sc. thesis talks on 20th of October

On Thursday 20th of October two B.Sc. thesis presentations will take place at 2.30 p.m and 3.30 pm. The first one is given by Mr Lennart Heim on "Network Virtualization for Automatic Deployment of SDR-Based Wireless Experiments." The second presentation is by Mr Magnus Tingulstad on "Synthetic 3D Cities for Radio Environment Modelling".  Both presentations will take place in the Seminar Room of iNETS.  


05.10.2016 | Demo runner-up prize & our American Week

Mr. Julian Arnold with his co-authors won the best demo runner-up prize from ACM WiNTECH held in conduction of annual ACM Mobicom conference. This combines with our great "American Week", where Dr Simic was presenting our results on LTE-U co-existence in an annual TPRC'16 conference, which is one of the most prestigious regulation and telecommunications policy conferences, combined with yet another talk in HotWireless 2016 in New York.

Dr Sandeep Narayanan Kadan Veedu from University College Dublin (Ireland) will be giving a guest seminar on Friday 9th of September at 10:00 a.m. in Seminar Room of iNETS. The talk is titled "Energy-efficient physical layer design of 5G wireless networks."
