Brief Biography

My current research focuses on applications of modern statistical tools for performance evaluation and optimization of next-generation wireless networks. I am especially interested in the radio environment mapping problem, or how to turn extremely noisy measurements collected by mobile terminals into reliable estimates of network coverage. Other lines of work include future network architectures, software defined networking, and applications of “big data” tools to processing of massive sensing data in the context of the Internet of Things. In the past I have worked on frequency allocation mechanisms for large-scale Wi-Fi networks, spectrum use modeling and measurements, wireless sensor networks, localization and tracking problems, and characterization of packet network traffic using methods from nonlinear dynamical systems research.
